There's quite a bit that seperate this pair of shows, political leanings not the least of them. I hear some pretty passionate arguments for and against both sides, and am interested in hat you guys think. Preferences, things you love or hate about either or both, talk to me.
I love both the shows. South park is slightly more out there with their satire than family guy in my oppinion, its a bit more outrageous. But it has its share of charm, for sure. I don't think anyone is as rude on family guy as Cartman is in south park, but then, family guy is more, family oriented so to speak while south park plays more to the shock factor. ah, well, long live both of these shows.
southpark.
while i enjoy family guy, (and i enjoy it a lot), some of the storylines in southpark are just so awsome and diffrent- and as someone pointed out, cartman is great
That's interesting. I think both try pretty hard with the satire, but Family Guy always struck me as the one playing the whole shock factor angle. That and I find the lack of concrete storyline a little offputting. It has its moments, don't get me wrong, but I feel like it tries very hard
I love southpark all the way. Family guy is good on times, sometimes. I love how at the end of each show of southpark they really have a message, no matter the crude jokes and so forth. Honestly I enjoy the crude joking, its hilarious to me.
I enjoyed both when I used to watch them, but I followed Family Guy more so. I stopped watching Family Guy as there were so many repeats and it wasn't as amusing watching it anymore.
Hmmm, comparing the two is really like comparing apples and oranges. I'm a fan of both, but I like South Park better. I've been watching it since the show started, and I've stuck with it through all these years, though the last season was extremely weak, in my opinion. there were only 2 truly memorable episodes in the entire season. Now, with season 17 being pushed back and not starting until September, I'm very aware that it probably has a short lifespan at this point, and I'm not sure whether the episodes will be good or not. Despite all that, I'm going to continue watching it. I'll never miss an episode, no matter how bad they are.
Family Guy, on the other hand, I've always had a love-hate relationship with. I only started seriously watching it about 2 years ago, when a guy I was dating at the time was really into it. Some of the episodes are funny, but most suffer from a lack of cohesiveness, as someone pointed out, and the little random sidetracks into the various family members' memories and imaginations is a little off-putting. It's a show I have to be in the right mood to watch, basically.
I love Family Guy. I've seen both, and south park imo just isn't all that interesting to me as family guy.. although, I just "recently" (recently being in quotes) because I just recently started watching it religiously. I love at the end of the night watching something that's mindless and I can just sit there and laugh at the stupidity lol....
Family guy all the way, now that and American dad, would be hard to choose from, south park do have some funny ones though.
south park deffenitly. family guy is just borring to me. been watching it since it started and watch it on Netflix all the time. I do agree that it has been losing its edge lately.
